CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team hosts Kansas for its Big 12 home opener at 7 p.m. on Friday at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio

The Bearcats will then travel to face Texas Tech to start their three-match road slate at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 24 at John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock, Texas.

Cincinnati's match versus Kansas will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+.

// SERIES HISTORY

Cincinnati has faced Kansas four times in its history, with the Jayhawks holding a 3-0-1 edge.

The series started in 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio, resulting in a 0-0 draw in double overtime.

Last year, Kansas hosted Cincinnati, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Jayhawks.

// LAST TIME OUT

Cincinnati played to a draw, 0-0, against Eastern Illinois on Sunday.

Cincinnati controlled the offensive pace throughout the match, outshooting Eastern Illinois, 15-2, and putting five shots on goal compared to two for the Panthers. The Bearcats also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Amber Brandon recorded two saves to secure her third shutout of the season.

Tiana Campbell led the Bearcats with five shots, while Lexi O’Shea added three. Molly Cochran recorded two shots, including one on target, while Jade Dubois and Joelle Bader each added a shot on goal.

Braelyn Even, Amber Branum and Brandon played the full 90.

// RETURNING STRENGTHS

Cincinnati returns five starters from last season, including Anna Barber, who started every match (19), along with Emma Gioffre (18 starts) and Carly Oubs (16 starts). Four of Uc's 12 returners appeared in double-digit games for the Red & Black.

While the Bearcats will miss starting goalkeeper Camryn Miller, they return their main defensive line, featuring Gioffre, Oubs, and Christa Gibbons.

The Bearcats welcome six transfers and eight freshman to the 2026 roster. Cincinnati's freshman class includes Molly Kubistek, Joelle Bader, Braelyn Even, Rhegan Coombs, Jade Dubois, Allysia Iaquinto, Brooklynn Schomaker and Vanessa Kaminski-Roth.

Transfers Brylee Borgman (Central Michigan), Vanessa Manoil (Daytona State), Amber Branum (Wright State), Katelyn Jamie (DePaul), Tiana Campbell (Concord) and Ally Gilbert (Rhode Island) also join the Bearcats.
