TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer program played to a draw, 1-1, against Kansas on Friday night at Gettler stadium.
The Bearcats move to 2-2-4 on their season.
Kansas controlled the first half, outshooting the Bearcats, 9-1, while earning two corner kicks. Neither team was able to find the back of the net before halftime.
After the break, Kansas opened the scoring following a blocked penalty kick, with the rebound falling to Emma Frey, who converted to give the Jayhawks a 1-0 lead.
Cincinnati continued to fight, finding the equalizer just 16 minutes later. A free kick found Tiana Campbell, who sent a long-range shot into the back of the net to level the match to a 1-1 draw.
Karson Yon, Emma Gioffre, Braelyn Even, Lexi O’Shea, Anna Barber, Amber Branum and goalie Amber Brandon played the full 90.
After the game, the Sidloski family presented their memorial scholarship to Carly Oubs for embodying the true qualities of "Playing for 3."
Up next, the Bearcats will travel to Lubbock, Texas to start their three-match road slate against Texas Tech at 8 p.m. ET inside John Walker Soccer Complex.
