TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team opens the 2026-27 season Monday at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky at the University Club of Kentucky’s Big Blue Course.
The two-day tournament begins Monday with 36 holes of competition, followed by an 18-hole final round Tuesday. Both days are scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.
Cincinnati’s opening lineup features senior Ellise Rymer, freshman Mai Mai Wimonwan, sophomore Angela Gomez, freshman Eline Chau-Hu and senior Lauren Pleiman.
The Bearcats will compete in a 15-team field that includes host Kentucky, Auburn, California, Indiana, Tennessee, Penn State, South Alabama, Lipscomb, East Carolina, Richmond, Belmont, Akron, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State.
The Bettie Lou Evans Invitational is in its 32nd year and honors longtime Kentucky women's golf coach Bettie Lou Evans. Evans coached the Wildcats from 1979-2001 before serving as the director of golf operations for Kentucky's men's and women's programs for 17 years. She passed away Sept. 26, 2023.
Cincinnati enters the season looking to build on a 2025-26 campaign in which the Bearcats continued to make strides under head coach Aimee Ponte. UC recorded its first top-100 ranking since the 2007-08 season and posted a runner-up finish at the Powercat Invitational before adding another top-five finish at the Chevron Silverado Showdown.
The 2026-27 roster features three returners, led by Rymer, who won the 2026 English Women’s Amateur Championship in July. The Bearcats also welcome four newcomers, including three freshmen and one transfer.
The Bearcats will compete in five tournaments during the fall before returning to action for six spring events, culminating with the Big 12 Championship in Las Vegas.
