TicketsCINCINNATI – Cincinnati women’s tennis concluded a weekend of action at home on Saturday, hosting the annual UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational and beginning the fall season. The Bearcats welcomed Miami (OH), Purdue, and Louisville for the event.
Cincinnati picked up nine singles wins and nine doubles wins over the two-day event, with freshmen Elizabeth Fauchet, Lucia Fuduric, Dani Forte, and Emme Bull all finding their first doubles and singles wins of their collegiate careers.
The first day of the invite consisted of two rounds of doubles play followed by singles. The Bearcats went 5-1 in doubles, with Gabrielle Guenther/Tara Kurepa leading the way with two victories (6-0 and 7-5). Fauchet/Milicia Popovski (6-3), Fuduric/Sakurako Watanabe (7-5) and Forte/Emme (6-1) also contributed doubles wins.
Cincinnati also picked up three singles wins, including Guenther (6-7(3), 6-4, 10-4), Tara Kurepa (6-4, 3-6, 10-4), and Lucia Fuduric (6-3, 6-3).
In day two of the event, doubles play consisted of one round, where all four Cincinnati doubles teams secured wins: Guenther/Kurepa (6-3), Watanabe/Fauchet (6-1), Forte/Bull (6-0), Fuduric/Popovski (6-3).
Singles play for day two consisted of multiple rounds, the Bearcats appearing in 11 of them and picking up wins in six. Fauchet (7-5, 4-6, 10-8), Popovski (3-6, 6-3, 10-7), Forte (6-4, 2-6, 10-4), Watanabe (6-4, 6-2), Fauchet (6-3, 6-4), and Bull (3-0, forfeit).
// ABOUT THE PAM WHITEHEAD INVITATIONAL
In 2018, the program renamed its annual fall invitational to honor Pam Whitehead, a former standout player for the Bearcats and a beloved member of the Cincinnati tennis community. Whitehead passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of excellence. She holds the program's single-season record for combined doubles wins with 25.

The Bearcats will head to compete at the ITA Fall Regional Championships in Mason, Ohio at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. The event is set from Thursday, Oct. 8 to Tuesday, Oct. 13.
