TicketsINDEPENDENCE, Minn. – The Cincinnati men’s golf team posted a final-round 2-over-par 286 to finish fourth at the Gopher Invitational Monday at Windsong Farm Club. Georgia won the event at 9-under, followed by Oklahoma at 4-under, Rutgers at 8-over, the Bearcats at 10-over and Little Rock at 13-over.
Sophomore Brayden Miller paced three Bearcats in the top 25 with a career-best tie for ninth finish.
Miller, who earned his first career top-25 finish last week at the Bearcat Invitational, carded three birdies against four bogeys for a 1-over 72 in the final round Tuesday. Junior Leo Wessel carded his third round in red figures, a 1-under 70, to tie for 13th, while sophomore Aidan Wilson posted his career-best finish in a tie for 25th after a 1-over 72.
Senior Timmy Hollenbeck also carded a 1-over 72 in the final round to tie for 40th, while freshman Eli Wessel tied for 50th after a final-round 8-over 79.
As a team, Cincinnati ranked third with 44 birdies and third in par-4 scoring at 15-over, while tying for third in par-5 scoring at 6-under.
The Bearcats travel to Lexington, Ky., for the Cullan Brown Collegiate Oct. 5-6 at Lexington Country Club.
