TicketsWACO, Texas – The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer program fell to No. 11 Baylor, 2-1, on Sunday inside Betty Lou May Field in Waco, Texas.
The Bearcats move to 2-4-4 on the season, while the Bears improve to 9-1-1.
Both teams created opportunities battling to take the lead throughout the first half, but Baylor opened the scoring in the 36th minute to take a 1-0 advantage.
After the break, The Bears found the back of the net for a second time at the 48-minute mark to improve their lead to 2-0.
Cincinnati answered back in the 72nd minute as junior Joy Kimwemwe headed the ball over the goalkeeper for her first career goal.
The Bearcats were unable to find the equalizer a second time, as Baylor held on for the 2-1 victory.
Goalie Amber Brandon and defender Ally Gilbert each played the full 90 minutes.
