TicketsMANHATTAN, Kan. – The Cincinnati women’s golf team finished second at the Powercat Classic behind several standout individual performances.
Three Bearcats finished inside the top 10, led by Mai Mai Wimonwan in third place. Wimonwan carded an even-par 216 in just her second collegiate tournament.
Angela Gomez followed in fourth place with a two-over 218. Her performance was highlighted by a two-under 70 in the second round. Both numbers are career bests for the sophomore.
Freshman Eline Chau-Hu finished eighth with a 222, giving Cincinnati three top-10 finishers.
Ellise Rymer finished 18th and Staci Pla finished 53rd to round out the Bearcats’ lineup. Lauren Pleiman, who competed as an individual, posted a career-low 231 to finish 37th.
Cincinnati finished with a team score of 882, placing second behind host Kansas State.
Up next, the Bearcats will compete at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational from Saturday through Monday in Fayetteville, Ark.
