The Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving program opened its season against Northern Kentucky on Saturday morning inside Keating Aquatic Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving program opened its season against Northern Kentucky on Saturday morning inside Keating Aquatic Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cincinnati earned 28 event wins over the Norses.

The women’s team (212-48) and men’s team (215-47) opened the season with dominant victories over NKU, earning first-year head coach Joey Ferreri his first career win.

For the divers, sophomore Noah Green claimed first place for both 1-meter with a score of 278.65 and 3-meter with a score of 297.35. On the women’s side, senior Langely Petersen took first in the 3-meter dive (240.15) and transfer junior Maria Colombo earned first in the 1-meter dive (252.05).

Junior Owen Chiles led the men’s team with three event wins in the 200-yard IM with 1:51.75, 200-yard backstroke with 1:49.79 and the 200-yard freestyle, while also contributing to the victory in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:29.42).

For the women’s team, senior Lindi Worrell led with two event wins in the 50-yard freestyle (23.58) and the 100-yard freestyle (51.08), while also contributing to both the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.94) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:29.95).

Next up, the Bearcats will travel to Oxford, Ohio to face Miami (OH) at 2 p.m. on Friday Oct. 16 inside Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
