CINCINNATI – Cincinnati football punter Max Fletcher was named to the Ray Guy Award Ray’s 8 list on Monday.

Fletcher punted four times on Saturday, pinning the Mountaineers inside their own 20-yard line three times. He had two punts sail further than 50 yards, including a 66-yard boot that landed at WVU’s 1-yard line. He had a 59-yarder against West Virginia as well.

Through six games this season, Fletcher has punted 21 times and is averaging 46.3 yards per attempt. Sitting just one punt shy of qualifying for the national leaderboards, Fletcher’s average would rank ninth in the country.

Fletcher has placed 10 of his 21 punts inside the 20 this year and has seven kicks of at least 50 yards. His career punt average of 44.2 ranks 10th among active FBS players. Fletcher’s career average as a Bearcat is 45.71, which would rank first all-time in school history ahead of UC Athletics Hall of Famer Kevin Huber (45.47).
