CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati women’s golf team will compete in the seventh annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, presented by Tyson Foods, Saturday through Monday at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
Cincinnati’s lineup features Mai Mai Wimonwan, Angela Gomez, Eline Chau-Hu, Ellise Rymer and Staci Pla. Lauren Pleiman will compete as an individual.
The Blessings Collegiate Invitational features both men’s and women’s fields competing simultaneously on the same course. Groups will tee off from holes No. 1 and No. 10 each day. The course will play to a par 72, with yardages varying between the men’s and women’s tees.
On the women’s side, Cincinnati will compete in an eight-team field featuring host Arkansas, North Texas, Kent State, Minnesota, Princeton, Alabama, Kansas State and Rice.
Cincinnati is coming off a second-place finish at the Powercat Classic, highlighted by three Bearcats finishing inside the top 10.
Wimonwan led the way with a third-place finish, carding an even-par 216 in just her second collegiate tournament. Gomez followed in fourth place with a 2-over 218, highlighted by a 2-under 70 in the second round. Both marks are career bests for the sophomore.
Chau-Hu rounded out Cincinnati’s top-10 finishers, placing eighth with a 222.
