CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Athletics hosted its fifth annual In Her Likeness NIL event on Monday evening in the West Pavilion North Lounge. More than 200 UC female student-athletes had the opportunity to partake in this year’s event, which featured speakers from Superior Credit Union, Tampax, CBTS and Sure Smile, as well as representatives from the NIL Store.

“This is such an impactful event,” said Grace Diederich, assistant director, athlete partnerships. “I love getting to see our female athletes feel confident and empowered when they are here. I also really like getting to see them continue to learn and grow their knowledge about NIL.”

During the event, more than 3,000 NIL deals, totaling more than $90,000, were awarded to UC female student-athletes, marking an increase of more than $33,000 from the previous year.

The program included sessions led by several speakers:

  • Kally Dattilo, Superior Credit Union
  • Ben Singer, Tampax
  • Jana Korfhagen, Tara McOmber, Kara Rummel and Lauren Neff, CBTS
  • Dawn Broyles, Sure Smile

Swimming and diving student-athlete Madison Dampier said, “I really enjoyed getting to network and connect with so many different companies and brands, while also getting insight on what NIL looks like now and in the future.”

“I learned from the event to be passionate about what you want to pursue, as well as to be open to opportunities, because that will lead you to other opportunities you may not have thought of,” said AJ Hendrick, a current UC soccer student-athlete.

Following the presentations, athletes engaged in networking stations with representatives from Superior Credit Union, Tampax, CBTS, Sure Smile and the NIL Store, gaining valuable connections, resources and opportunities to elevate their personal brands.

In-kind sponsors included Tarte Cosmetics, LMNT, Bubble, TIY, gorjana, Wellness City, Funday Sweets, Refresh Wellness Dent, Togethxr, b.Tan, Dove, Pepsi and Poppi.
