// SERIES HISTORY

Cincinnati has faced West Virginia five times in its history with the Mountaineers holding a 4-0-1 advantage.

The series started in 2007 in Morgantown, W.Va., resulting in a 2-0 victory for West Virginia.

Last time the two teams met, the Bearcats fell, 2-1, against the Mountaineers at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, W.Va.

// LAST TIME OUT

Cincinnati fell to No. 17 Colorado, 1-0, at Prentup Field in Boulder, Colo.

UC tallied one shot and four corner kicks throughout the first half but was unable to convert.

After the break, Cincinnati continued to battle defensively, holding No. 17 Colorado scoreless until the 79th minute, when the Buffaloes found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.

The Bearcats generated a promising attacking opportunity in the final two minutes but were unable to find the equalizer as Colorado secured the victory.

Amber Brandon, Emma Gioffre, Karson Yon, Anna Barber and Braelyn Even played the full 90 on the pitch.

// RETURNING STRENGTHS

Cincinnati returns five starters from last season, including Anna Barber, who started every match (19), along with Emma Gioffre (18 starts) and Carly Oubs (16 starts). Four of Uc's 12 returners appeared in double-digit games for the Red & Black.

While the Bearcats will miss starting goalkeeper Camryn Miller, they return their main defensive line, featuring Gioffre, Oubs, and Christa Gibbons.
