- Three-year starter for the UC teams of the late 1950s that compiled a 79-9 record, won three Missouri Valley Conference titles and made two appearances in the NCAA Final Four, finishing third each time.
- Co-captain as a senior.
- High-scoring performer whose talents were overshadowed by Oscar Robertson.
- Second on the team in scoring and assists his final two seasons, averaging 15.5 points per game as a junior.
- Was No. 6 on the UC career scoring list when he closed his career with 1,093 points.
- Earned second team All-American honors as a senior in 1960 (Converse).
- Taken in the third round of the 1960 NBA draft by Cincinnati.
- UC Athletics Hall of Fame 1981.
