  • Nearly a one-man track team, constantly scoring points in the high jump and sprint events.
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships as a junior, establishing the UC record of 7'3".
  • Also set school records in the 100 meters, 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay.
  • Champion of the 100 meters, 200 meters and high jump at the 1983 Metro Conference Championships, leading UC to a runner-up finish and earning Most Outstanding Athlete honors.
  • Cleared 6'10" in his very first meet, fulfilling a vow he made to break the school record.
  • UC Athletic Hall of Fame 2002.
