  • Sid Gillman was the architect of what is considered the greatest era of UC football.
  • His teams compiled a 50-13-1 record in six seasons, won three Mid-American Conference championships and played in a pair of bowl games.
  • Originator of the passing game now considered the West Coast Offense, Gillman began developing that attack while at UC, earning national aerial game rankings.
  • Left UC to become head coach of the Los Angeles Rams and launch a pro coaching career.
  • UC Athletic Hall of Fame 1979.
