A native of Columbus, Ohio, Williams attended Worthington Kilbourne running cross country and track and field. As a junior, he finished 96th at the D! OHSAA Cross Country State Championships. He Finished 10th at the OATCCC Indoor State Championships. He was also the OHSSA D1 Outdoor District 2 Champion in the 3,200m. As a senior he placed seventh at the D1 OHSSA Cross Country State Championships. 3,200m runner up at the OATCCC Indoor State Championships. He also set his high schools records in the 5k (15:17) and the indoor 1,600m (4:25) and 3,200m (9:16).
