Danny Folino
Danny Folino joined the University of Cincinnati staff in January 2018 as an assistant director of football sports performance.
 
He works directly with Bearcats football players, implementing the sports performance program with a focus on strength, power and explosive development training through all phases of motion. 
 
Prior to joining the UC staff, Folino worked as a strength and conditioning intern at Northwestern University.
 
He spent 2015-17 at his alma mater, Michigan State, as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant and graduate intern while working towards his master’s degree.
 
Following graduation, Folino started his coaching career as a summer strength and conditioning intern with the Miami Dolphins in 2014. 
 
He was a three-year letterwinner at Michigan State as a walk-on linebacker from 2011-13. He played on the 2013 Big Ten Conference Championship team and was a part of three bowl wins, the 2011 Outback Bowl, 2012 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and 2014 Rose Bowl. 
 
Folino has two degrees from Michigan State, a bachelor’s degree in 2014 and master’s in 2017. 
 
His father Dino is a longtime college football coach and administrator who coached defensive backs at Cincinnati from 1977-80. He has four sisters and three brothers. 
 
Folino and his wife Katherine live in Cincinnati.
