Dr. Jason Stone

Jason D. Stone, PhD, joined the University of Cincinnati Athletics staff as the inaugural Director of Sport Science in March 2025. In his role, he leads the strategic integration of sport science throughout the football program, including the development and implementation of athlete monitoring systems that connect scientific research with practical performance applications.

Prior to Cincinnati, Stone spent more than two years with the Cincinnati Reds, most recently as Manager of Applied Sports Science, where he helped oversee the application of health, performance and human movement strategies across the organization. He previously served as a Performance/Sport Scientist at The Ohio State University, supporting research focused on enhancing performance and recovery among athlete and military populations.

Stone also brings extensive experience in research and collegiate athletics, including roles as a Performance Scientist for West Virginia men's basketball and a Research Associate at the Sport Science Center at TCU. He earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Health from Miami University, his master's degree in Exercise Physiology from TCU and his doctorate from West Virginia University.
