JD Jordan joined Cincinnati as its football equipment manager in May 2024.
Jordan oversees all aspects of the day-to-day equipment operations and needs for the Cincinnati football program. He manages the football equipment area with a primary focus on player protective equipment and NIKE footwear and apparel. He also oversees the football equipment staff and student managers, manages team travel logistics for team equipment and game day equipment operations.
Jordan comes to Cincinnati after serving as Wyoming’s assistant athletic director for equipment operations. He also has experience as the football equipment manager at Akron and in equipment roles at the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.
During his six years with the Cowboys, he served as the administrator for the equipment department and was responsible for the day-to-day equipment functions of the football team including protective equipment, apparel and footwear, branding, travel logistics and budget management, among several other duties.
While at Wyoming, Jordan worked closely with Adidas to redesign the uniforms the Cowboys debuted in 2019 and the gold alternate debuted in 2024. In addition, he worked closely with Riddell as Wyoming was featured as a premier Insite Analytics team that helped monitor head impacts on football players. He also managed logistics for four bowl games and two trips to play at the University of Hawai’i.
Before joining the Cowboys in 2018, he served as the football equipment manager at Akron for three years including two bowl games and a MAC Championship game appearance in 2017.
Prior to joining the Zips, he had internship stints at the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Akron Rubberducks. He worked as the graduate assistant for footbal equipment at Akron for one season. He began his career as a football student manager at Louisville.
A native of Lincoln, Illinois, Jordan holds a bachelor’s degree in sport administration from the University of Louisville and a master’s degree in sport science from the University of Akron.
He is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Manager’s Association (AEMA). He has served on the Board of Directors for the AEMA representing District VIII. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the College Football Equipment Managers Society (CFEMS) as one of two Big 12 representatives.
He and his wife, Jocelyn, have two daughters, Janelle and Jamie.
