Competed in seven meets this season… Notched third in the 200-yard butterfly against Louisville… Placed fourth against Oakland in the 200-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle… Achieved Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team… Recorded the seventh fastest time in program history in the 200-yard butterfly.
2023-24
Participated in seven meets this season ... Earned fourth in 200-yard butterfly timed finals (2:03.67) vs. Kentucky ... Registered three personal bests in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.12) the 100-yard butterfly (55.79) the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.11) at the Big XII Conference Championships ... Received the Breakthrough Season award ... Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team.
2022-23
Competed in seven meets … Earned a new collegiate personal best time of 56.25 in the 100-yard freestyle versus West Virginia … Posted another new collegiate best in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.81) versus Kenyon … Set collegiate personal bests in the 100-yard (56.86) and 200-yard butterfly (2:06.44) versus Kentucky.
HIGH SCHOOL / PREP
The Canadian attended Kingston Secondary School… As a freshman she placed second at the Ontario Championships in the 100-meter butterfly… Was honor roll student and was named swimming MVP.
PERSONAL
Katelyn “Katie” Pain was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario ... Pain comes from a family of athletes, her father, Peter Pain, was a linebacker for Queen’s University and her mother, Laura Gifford, was an alpine skier on the Canadian national ski team.
