Tickets2025-26: Competed in all 12 meets this season… Secured three first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke, two in both the 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard individual medley, and one in the 200-yard individual medley… Placed on the podium twice at the Big 12 Championships placing sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:56.32) and eighth in the 400-yard individual medley (3:50.04)... Ranks sixth in points at Cincinnati with 768.35.
2024-25: Competed in 10 meets… Finished first place three times in the 200-yard breaststroke, two times in the 100-yard breaststroke, 500-yard freestyle, and twice in the 400-yard individual medley… Recorded second the 100- yard breaststroke, 500-yard freestyle, and 200-yard freestyle... Placed in the top 10 in each event he swam for the Big 12 Conference Championship, including first place in the 400-yard individual medley, sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke, fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke… Holds the program record in the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and ranks third in the 50-yard breaststroke… Earned NCAA B-Cut times in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard individual medley… Grabbed All-Big 12 First and Second Team honors.
2023-24: Competed in 10 meets… Earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Week… Holds the third-fastest time in program history in the 400 IM (3:49.30)… At the Big 12 Championships, he finished fourth in the 400-yard individual medley (3:50.42), seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:33.48) and ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke B-Final (1:57.88)… Collected three event wins in his debut season as a Bearcat.
HIGH SCHOOL / PREP: Maryland native attended and swam for Governor Thomas Johnson High School… During his freshman year, he won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley at the county meet… Named Co-Swimmer of the Year for Frederick County Public Schools during his junior and senior year… Broke the school in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay… During his senior season, he broke the school in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle… Broke the school record for the 100-yard freestyle… Holds six county records in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay… Earned team captain for his senior year.
PERSONAL: Born and raised in Frederick, Md.… Son of Todd and Michelle Bumgardner… Has three siblings; Andrew, Jacob and Julianna… While at UC, he plans to major in Animal Biology.
