Swam for Flowermound High School... Earned Freshman of the Year honors and set the school record in the 200 freestyle... In his sophomore season, he was named Swimmer of the Year, broke the team records in the 100 and 200 freestyle, and qualified for the A-final at state in both events... Repeated as Swimmer of the Year his junior year, adding more team records in the 100 and 200 freestyle while A-finaling again at state... Helped his team to a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay at state... As a senior, he capped his career with Swimmer of the Year honors, team records in multiple events, and A-final appearances in all of his state races... Beyond high school, he competed for Lakeside Aquatic Club, where he was part of a 400 freestyle relay squad that set a national age group record.
