Swam for Colegio Positivo in Curitiba, Parana... Specialized in the 100 and 200 breaststroke as well as the 200 and 400 IM... As a junior, he earned second-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breast at the Brazilian Junior Nationals... Capped his high school career as a six-time Brazilian Junior National Champion in his senior year... Beyond high school, he competed for Clube Curitibano, where he became a nine-time Brazilian Junior Champion and placed third in the 50 and 200 breast at the South Junior American Games... He has represented Brazil on the national team in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke.
