Attended Patriot High School… Started swimming for Patriot High her sophomore year ... Placed ninth at the state championship in the 50-yard freestyle and 11th in the 100-yard freestyle… During her junior year, she became the record holder as part of both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay for her high school ... Finished ninth in the 50-yard freestyle and 14th in the 100-yard freestyle at the state championship meet… As a senior, she placed seventh in the 100-yard freestyle at states and ninth in the 50-yard freestyle ... Recorded her personal best of 52.00 in the 100-yard freestyle at regionals.

Born in Fairfax, Virginia, but raised in Bristow, Virginia ... Haugen comes from a family of athletes, her mother, Micki Haugen played field hockey at Radford University ... Her father, Nils Haugen played semi-pro soccer in Norway and her sister, Victoria Haugen is a junior soccer player at Virginia Tech.
