2018 (Junior): Appeared in 13 matches and earned a place in the Starting XI once (home to UConn)… played a season-best 40 minutes against the Huskies as well… academically, posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in both the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters to earn TopCat honors from UC… graduated from UC in Spring 2019 with degree in Marketing… in early June, was selected for and attended the NCAA’s Career in Sports Forum as one of only 200 student-athletes nationally that were brought in to learn and explore potential careers in sports with a primary focus on college athletics… also was nominated for and named a finalist for UC’s Jean Stephens Memorial Award, one of the highest annual honors bestowed in the Athletics Department.
2017 (Sophomore): Saw action in 10 matches and was called into the Starting XI once (vs. Morehead State) where she played a career-high 53 minutes… grabbed her first career goal in the 4-0 victory over MSU (10/6)… named to the AAC All-Academic team.
2016 (Freshman): Saw action in 19 of the team’s 20 matches in her freshman season and earned a spot in the Starting XI eight times, including the first two matches of her collegiate career… tallied one assist and one point during the season… that assist set up the game-winning goal in the Riverboat Rivalry Match with Northern Kentucky (8/22/16)… provided strong play out of the back and helped the defense post eight shutouts… named to the AAC All-Academic team.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati)… competes for the Lions’ soccer team as well as Kings Hammer Academy during the club season… helped UA to a pair of district titles and two appearances in the regional semifinals… garnered several awards, including three All-Girls Greater Catholic League (GGCL) and one all-city honor… at the club level, competed with a Hammer team that won three state titles (2013, 2014, 2015)… also won the 2015 regional title before advancing to the national semifinals the same year… comes from an athletic family, including her mother (tennis, Ohio State), grandfather Bob Horton (wrestling and golf, Ohio State), cousin Braden Layer (football, Denison) and cousin Cam Layer (football, Denison).
