Sydney Goins Season 2016

2018 (Junior): Logged minutes in all 18 matches on the year… earned a starting position in seven matches as well… registered eight shots on the year, including a career-high two at USF… was on the pitch for a career-high 82 minutes against Houston after playing 78 earlier in the year against Kansas.
 
2017 (Sophomore): Appeared in 15 matches on the season and earned a spot in the Starting XI in the match at Houston… tallied one goal on the season, but it was big as it was the game-winner in a 3-2 decision over Tulsa (10/12)… recorded a career-high three shots in that match as well… played a career-high 50 minutes at Houston… that was an improvement over her previous best of 49 minutes in a 1-0 win at UConn… named to the AAC All-Academic team.
 
2016 (Freshman): Saw action in 15 matches in first collegiate season… earned her first and only start of 2016 against Youngstown State… tallied her first collegiate goal and points with a strike against Colorado College… tied for second in scoring among freshmen and tied for ninth overall amongst all team members… named to the AAC All-Academic team.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Oak Hills HS (Cincinnati)… played four years for the Highlanders, helping them to a 53-9-14 record and the Greater Miami Conference (GMC) crown in her senior season, the first championship in school history, as well as a district title… highly decorated, including two selections to the All-GMC First Team and one to the Second Team…2015 all-state honoree… a four-year starter that played in all games, she was also selected Academic All-GMC four times and three times was an Academic All-Southwest Ohio selection… played two seasons of basketball, including one with the varsity team as a sophomore… at the club level, played for the Kings Hammer Academy, which won the 2010 Super Y National Championship… added seven USYSA State Cup titles and two runners-up in a nine-year span (2007-15)… team also was the USYSA National League Champions once, runners-up twice and USYSA National Finalists twice… was a member of the National Honor Society and a four-time selection to Oak Hills’ Academic ‘O’… is a second generation Bearcat as her father is a UC alumnus… is a triplet with brothers Drew and Kyle… several family members have played professional and collegiate baseball, including great uncle Ralph Birkofer (Cincinnati Reds organization), great grandfather Ralph Birkofer (Pittsburgh Pirates, MLB), grandfather Jim Birkofer (New York Yankees organization), grandfather Bruce Goins, Sr. (Syracuse), cousin Jeff Birkofer (Morehead State), uncle Jamie Birkofer (Middle Tennessee State), uncle Doug Birkofer (Middles Tennessee State) and cousin Kevin Birkofer (Montreal Expos organization).
