Duncan Foster joined the University of Cincinnati soccer staff in June 2021 as the team’s volunteer assistant coach.
Alongside coaching with the Bearcats, Foster runs a private performance-coaching business, DSF Coaching, working with high-performance athletes around the world.
The High Wycombe, United Kingdom native brings substantial assistant coaching experience at various levels, most recently with the National Premier Soccer League's Myrtle Beach Mutiny and Knoxville Force teams in 2015 and 2016-17, respectively. He also served as an assistant coach with the Tennessee Olympic Development Program from 2015-16.
Foster was the volunteer assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at Carson-Newman from 2017-18.
He played collegiately for the Eagles from 2013-14, part of a C-N squad which competed in the NCAA Championship in 2013, starting in all 23 games that season. He was named a Capital One/CoSIDA First-Team All-District Academic selection in 2014 and earned preseason all-conference honors entering the 2014 campaign. His senior year was cut short by injury, allowing him to assist the team with strength and conditioning.
Before his time playing at Carson-Newman, Foster received a bachelor’s degree in Sport Science at Brunel University in London, England, where he was also a team captain and coach. He also coached with Wycombe Wanderers and Fulham while studying.
Upon graduating, he worked with Reading FC in the English Premier League as a member of the sport science/strength and conditioning staff for the 2012-13 season.
Foster earned an MBA from Carson-Newman in 2015 and a Master’s in Kinesiology specializing in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior from The University of Tennessee in 2018.
