Head coach Eric Toth announced the addition of Wil Lofgren to the University of Cincinnati women’s tennis coaching staff in October of 2016. Lofgren will serve as a volunteer assistant coach.
“I am really excited adding Wil Lofgren to our coaching staff,” stated Toth. “He is a quality person and somebody our student-athletes will really look up to as this team continues to develop. Wil has a great understanding of the game of tennis which made him a very successful player and will translate well into his new role as a coach. I look forward to working with Wil as we all continue to work towards elevating the profile of our program.”
Lofgren currently serves as the Head Professional at the Queen City Racquet Club. He has previously coached at several prestigious junior tournaments including the US Open Junior Tennis Championship, the Logines Future Tennis Aces and the Nike Jr. International Tournament. He has worked with John McNally who ranks in the top 15 in the ITF Jr. World Rankings. in addition, three of his students have won a combined seven USTA Gold Balls.
Lofgren played collegiately at Bradley University and ranks fourth in all-time combined wins. He was named to the Missouri Valley Conference singles first team and was crowned Individual Doubles Champion. He was a three-time USTA National Open Doubles Title winner and a two-time US Open Midwest Qualifier Champion. Locally, he also as a three-time Cincinnati Met winner including 2015 singles title.
