PositionAssistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator
Abby Jump enters her third season Assistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator in 2025-26. She joined the staff after spending the last five seasons with Katrina Merriweather at Memphis and Wright State.

A rising star in the profession, she was the only coach nationally to be named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 list for a six-year stretch from 2018-23.

As recruiting coordinator, Jump brought in the highest-rated recruiting class in program history for the 2025-26 season. Cincinnati native Dee Alexander, a five-star recruit ranked No. 11 nationally in the espnW final rankings, headlines the class as the highest-ranked player ever signed.

In 2024-25, Jump helped lead the team to its best winning percentage since 2019-20, including UC's highest non-conference winning percentage (.800, 8-2) since 2005-06 and its most conference victories (7) since 2019-20. She mentored forward Jillian Hayes, who became the first Bearcat to earn All-Big 12 honors. Hayes landed on the All-Big 12 Third Team in 2024-25 after earning Honorable Mention recognition the previous season.

In 2023-24, the Bearcats saw a five-win improvement from the season prior and their 14 wins were the most in a single season since 2019-20. The squad posted its best non-conference winning percentage (72.7%) in 15 years and won six consecutive games during the stretch for its longest win streak since 2019-20.

With the Tigers, Jump oversaw the development of perimeter players, including leading scorer and All-AAC Second Team selection Jamirah Shutes, while coordinating recruiting efforts over the last two seasons.

Prior to Memphis, Jump helped lead her alma mater Wright State to two NCAA Tournament appearances and two Horizon League Championships over three seasons.

Before returning to Wright State, Jump was an assistant coach at Morehead State for two seasons, where she was a part of the Eagles' first WNIT appearance and helped signed the highest ranked recruiting class in program history.

Jump spent a season as the director of operations at Bucknell from 2015-16. The Union, Ky., native played four seasons at Wright State under then-assistant coach Katrina Merriweather from 2011-15, where the guard led the conference in three-point field goal percentage each of her last two seasons and helped guide the program to a 2014 NCAA Tournament appearance.
