TicketsAJ Wessel enters his seventh season with Cincinnati Football, serving as Assistant General Manager after being promoted to the role in December 2025. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Zach Grant, Wessel oversees roster management, player acquisition and retention, salary cap planning, transfer portal evaluations, and agent relations. He also continues to serve as the program’s Pro Liaison, a role in which he was named the 2025 P4 Pro Liaison of the Year after coordinating 271 NFL scout visits.
Prior to his current role, Wessel served as Associate Director of Football Administration. In that capacity, he directed advanced team travel logistics, spearheaded student-athlete onboarding for both high school signees and transfer portal additions, and led academic integration efforts that yielded back-to-back program-record team GPAs (3.27 and 3.48). He continues to serve as a vital liaison between football operations and key department areas, including housing and academic support.
A Cincinnati native, Wessel earned his bachelor’s degree in sport administration (2023) and an MBA (2024) from the University of Cincinnati. During his undergraduate tenure, he was appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to a two-year term on the UC Board of Trustees.
