Brad Pike
Brad Pike joined the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics in May 2022 and currently serves as the Chief of Staff. In this role, he supports Director of Athletics John Cunningham in overseeing departmental operations, strategic planning, staff development, and collaboration with key internal and external partners. Pike also provides sport oversight for men’s basketball and women’s golf, supervises all student-athlete health and wellness units, and serves as the department’s Athletic Health Care Administrator.
Before becoming Chief of Staff, Pike served as Cincinnati’s Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Health & Wellness, where he led sports medicine, sports psychology and wellness, sports performance, and the department’s Drug Deterrence and Education Program. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the department’s comprehensive wellness strategy.
A highly respected athletics administrator with more than 30 years of experience in sports medicine and collegiate athletics, Pike joined the Bearcats following a distinguished 22-year career at Syracuse University. He served as the Orange’s Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Health Care Administrator beginning in 2016, directing all sports medicine, rehabilitation, and injury-prevention operations. Pike managed the NCAA drug-testing program, oversaw sports medicine and Olympic strength and conditioning staff, and contributed to major department-wide health initiatives.
Pike worked directly with the Syracuse men’s basketball program beginning in 2000, helping the team capture the 2003 national championship and advance to three Final Fours. He played a prominent role in assisting the Men's Cross Country team in winning the 2015 National Championship.  He was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Sports Medicine in 2005, overseeing all aspects of the department’s sports medicine operations. In 2020, he was appointed to the ACC COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group, helping guide conference-wide health and safety decision-making during the pandemic.
Prior to his time at Syracuse, Pike held several leadership roles with HealthSouth Sports Medicine, managing multiple outpatient rehabilitation centers across upstate New York. 
Pike holds a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Marietta College, a master’s degree in education from Syracuse University, and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the SUNY Health Science Center. He is a certified and licensed athletic trainer and physical therapist, and an active member of the College Athletic Trainers Society, where he serves as president, as well as multiple NCAA advisory groups focused on mental health, performance, and sports medicine.
Pike and his wife, Lynne, have two grown children.
