Brett Rybak is the assistant athletics director for communications, joining the department in September 2025. Rybak oversees the communcations office in addition to all communications efforts for the Bearcats' men's basketball and men's golf programs.
Rybak came to Cincinnati after three years at the University of Kentucky, where he served one year as associate director of athletics communications with the Wildcats' men's basketball and men's golf programs before two years as men's basketball director of player development, where he oversaw Kentucky student-athlete’s off-court experience, including management of name, image and license contracts, player welfare and player branding.
Prior to Kentucky, Rybak spent almost 12 years in The Ohio State University’s athletics communications office, where he worked with men’s basketball, baseball, women’s soccer and several other sports. He possesses more than 15 years of media relations and communications experience.
A native of Chesterland, Ohio, Rybak is a 2008 graduate of Otterbein University. He and his wife, Ellen, have a son, Paxton.
