Carter Wilson joined Cincinnati as the Director of Scouting in 2023. He was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2025 after two years of leading the scouting, identification and recruiting efforts for all high school players for the Bearcats.
A Florida graduate, he has more than nine years of experience working in recruiting at UC, Louisville and with the Gators.
In his current role, Wilson manages the day-to-day efforts of the personnel and recruiting department, reporting directly to General Manager Zach Grant.
In 2024, Wilson was instrumental in the recruitment of Freshman All-American linebacker Simeon Coleman as well as defensive back Jiquan Sanks, who became the Bearcats' first true freshman to start a season-opener since 2015.
Wilson's 2024 recruiting class had a major impact for the Bearcats. Cincinnati logged the most true freshmen snaps on offense and defense (921) of any Bearcats team since 2018. The 921 freshmen snaps were more than the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons combined.
Coleman, Sanks, linebacker Montay Weeden, defensive back Marqavious Saboor, defensive lineman Marquaze Parker and tight end Gavin Grover all started games or saw significant playing time as true freshmen last fall, and are expected to make an even bigger impact in 2025.
