Christy Finch

University of Cincinnati lacrosse head coach Lellie Swords added former Northwestern defender Christy Finch to her coaching staff in July, 2009. Finch, a four-time National Champion during her stay in Evanston, will bring an unparalleled level of success to the program.

In her final two years at Northwestern, Finch was named the Intercollegiate Women[apos]s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Defensive Player of the Year and an all-America selection. In her senior year she led the nation in caused turnovers with 70 and was honored as a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist (top female lacrosse player), Defender of the Year by Inside Lacrosse, Womenslacrosse.com, and WomensLax.com. The defender was also named Northwestern[apos]s female recipient of the Big Ten[apos]s Outstanding Sportsmanship Award.

For her career, she caused 183 turnovers, ranking fourth all-time in the NCAA record books. Finch was part of a Wildcat senior class which finished their careers with an overall record of 83-3 (.965), including a 43-0 record at home, and four national championships. This past summer, Finch served as an alternate for the World Cup Team and is a current member of the U.S. Elite Team.

Finch graduated in the spring of 2008 with a degree in communication studies and a minor in business institutions. A native of Hudson, Ohio, Finch assists with the 513 Lacrosse organization and the Natilax Elite club team. She handles individual player development, video exchange, fundraising, and assists with recruiting.
