David Rowe joined the Cincinnati football staff as its cornerbacks coach in December 2025.

Rowe comes from his alma mater, Rutgers, where he spent the last two seasons, including this past fall overseeing the cornerbacks. He guided Bo Mascoe to Honorable Mention All-B1G honors this year. Last season, he was the assistant cornerbacks coach, where he worked with Robert Longerbeam, who finished third nationally among 2024 players with 42 career passes defended (37 breakups, five interceptions) before his sixth-round NFL Draft selection by the Baltimore Ravens.

“I am grateful to Coach Satterfield for this opportunity in Cincinnati,” Rowe said. “There is a great foundation here with so much potential as we cultivate our identity. I am eager to get started and see what we can do.”

Rowe was a four-year letterwinner for the Scarlet Knights (2008-11), including registering tackles in all four BIG EAST meetings against UC with two pass breakups.

Rowe returned to Rutgers following a three-year stint at Houston (2021-23) with the cornerbacks and overall secondary. He helped Gervarrius Owens earn top safety and top cover safety honors in the AAC by PFF in 2022 en route to assisting in the Cougars’ transition to the Big 12. The 2021 team, which reached as high as No. 16 nationally and fell to Cincinnati in the AAC Championship game, was eighth nationally in holding opponents to a 55.2 percent passing completion rate. Defensive back Marcus Jones also earned the Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player.

Previous stops include Central Michigan (2019-20), Valdosta State (2017-18), where the Blazers won an NCAA Division II championship and Rockledge (Fla.) HS from 2015-16. He was a grad assistant at Western Michigan in 2014 and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive assistant in 2013, also under his college coach Greg Schiano.

Rowe comes to Cincinnati with his wife, Corissa. His brother, James, is also the defensive pass game coordinator at South Florida.
