Dr. Brian Hatch
Brian Hatch is a tenured faculty member, academic program director, department head, former UC student-athlete, UC alumnus, and Faculty Athletics Representative.

Brian holds a PhD in finance from Indiana University and a BBA in quantitative analysis and finance from UC’s Lindner College of Business. As a UC student, he competed in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track under Coach Bill Schnier. He also earned all-Metro honors in cross country and track and earned the university's Jimmy Nippert Award as the top male student-athlete in 1988.

In his role as the FAR, Brian plays a critical role in ensuring the academic integrity of our intercollegiate athletics program, facilitating institutional control of intercollegiate athletics and enhancing the student-athlete experience here.

The FAR also represents UC and its faculty in the relationship between the NCAA and the institution, provides significant leadership in the governance of UC’s intercollegiate athletics programs, and represents the president – in academic and student-athlete matters – to the athletics department and to UC’s faculty.

As a faculty member, he joined UC’s business school faculty in September 1998. During his time at UC, he directed its first Master of Science in Finance program, has served as the faculty representative to the University Investment Committee since 2008 and has served as head of the Finance Department since 2013. He also served at Indiana University as a lecturer and as an assistant professor of finance at the University of Delaware.
