Jennifer Sturm
Jennifer Sturm joined the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics in 2013 and currently serves as Associate AD for Leadership and Learning. In her role, she directs the Student-Athlete Development Academy, which empowers student-athletes in the areas of Leadership, Career Exploration, Personal Development, and Community Engagement. Under her leadership, the Academy provides innovative, intentional, and impactful programming to support student-athletes’ holistic success, both at UC and as future professionals.
 
She also oversees Learning Services within Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS), leading the learning specialist, academic coach, and tutoring programs. In 2013, she instituted the Committed to Academic and Personal Success (CAPS) summer bridge program, a comprehensive transition program to prepare freshman student-athletes for college life.
 
Sturm is an active member of the National Association of Academic & Student-Athlete Development Professionals and serves as faculty for the Steve McDonald Professional Development Institute. She also has spent several years as adjunct faculty in UC’s College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services and the College of Arts & Sciences. In 2018, Sturm was designated as eLearning Champion by the Office of the Provost. She was also an instrumental member of the team that earned the 2018 eLearning Program of the Year, awarded by the Office of the President.
 
She came to UC from the University of South Carolina, where she spent five years as the Assistant Director of Academics and Coordinator of Learning Enhancement Programs. Prior to her time at UofSC, she spent two years at UC as learning specialist and academic advisor.

Sturm graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from John Carroll University, where she was a four-year letterwinner in track and field and a two-year team captain. She then attended Michigan State University, where she earned a master's degree in higher education administration in 2006.
