Jon Horton joined the University of Cincinnati in January of 2015 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Game Presentation.
His duties include creating a game day experience on UC's campus with an approach of innovation and creativity through in-game presentations, video board content and other elements.
His college sports career began in 2008 when he was the executive producer of HuskyVision at the University of Washington before moving to SMU to lead their PonyUpTV in 2013.
Prior to UW, Jon was a seven-time Emmy Award winning television producer – all in the category of “Outstanding Sports Series.” His groundbreaking work with the Seattle Supersonics, the Pac-12 Conference, the Seattle Mariners, along with national and regional networks like ESPN and Fox Sports made him a leader in the industry in the Pacific Northwest over his 20 years there.
Horton is an accomplished performer on stage, having been featured in his own improv group, theatrical plays and most recently, as a TedX speaker. He is also a noted Roller Derby announcer, having called the action of multiple women’s flat track leagues as well as the 2014 Roller Derby World Cup.
Jon graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts from Southern Methodist University in 1985, but he is quick to point out that his heart belongs to UC. He resides in Delhi with his wife, Gale and his children, Charlotte and Drew.
