Katie Haag (Pavel) has been with the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics in various fundraising roles since February 2008 and currently serves as Associate Athletic Director for Development.
Haag, who was elevated to her current role in July 2016, directs the major gifts team and is a member of the Athletic Department’s Leadership Team. She is primarily responsible for generating revenue through philanthropic major gifts in support of capital projects, scholarship endowments, operating and excellence funds. Haag and the team are in the midst of an $87 million capital campaign to renovate Fifth Third Arena, the department’s on-campus basketball and volleyball facility. Prior to this she worked on an $86 million campaign for the renovation and expansion of Nippert Stadium with a focus on selling newly-built club seats and patio suites for football games.
Haag served as UC’s Assistant AD for Annual Giving for two years and managed all aspects of the UCATS annual giving campaign. During this time, she helped lead the transition from a tiered giving model to a per-seat and aggregate giving model. Under her direction, donor numbers increased 16% from FY 14 to FY15 and reached a five year high in FY16.
Haag originally joined the UC staff in February of 2008 as an intern in the athletics development office, serving in that role until March of 2010 when she was hired full-time. From 2010 to June 2014, her responsibilities included: assisting with UCATS annual giving and season ticket solicitations; growing and promoting specific booster clubs for Football, Men's Basketball and other varsity sports; and planning and executing fundraising and cultivation events for donors and alumni.
Haag earned her bachelor of science in sports administration from Northern Kentucky in 2009 and graduated in May of 2013 with a master’s in marketing from the University of Cincinnati.
She currently serves on the NKU Sports Business Advisory Council and is a member of NAADD.
She lives in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, with her husband Dan (CEAS ’09) and sons JJ and Thomas.
