Keri Thoman joined the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics in February 2008 and currently serves as the Senior Associate AD/Director of Academic Services. She is also the sport administrator for the women's lacrosse and women's soccer teams.
Thoman serves as the director of academic services within SASS, acting as the athletics department’s primary liaison to university admissions. She serves as the Director of Football Academics, overseeing all academic support, monitoring, and degree progress initiatives for the football program, as well as serving as the point of contact for former Bearcats who re-enroll at UC to complete their degrees. Under her leadership, the football program has achieved multiple record-setting academic semesters, including high marks in team grade point average and graduation success rates.
Thoman has spearheaded several new development initiatives for both student-athletes and staff. She collaborated with campus partners to expand programming and career-readiness resources for student-athletes, including the creation of Bearcats Business Edge (BBE), a professional development program focused on practical career, networking, and workplace readiness skills. For athletics staff, she launched Next Level Leadership, a multi‑session professional growth series focused on strengthening communication, leadership capacity, and team effectiveness.
Thoman is an active member within the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). She represents the athletics department within the ADAM group on UC’s campus, which is comprised of campus advising administrators. In addition, she has won the UCUAADA Sarah Grant Barber Outstanding Advising Administrator Award for her outstanding contributions to the quality of academic advising of UC students.
Prior to UC, Thoman spent seven years working for the National Football Foundation’s Play It Smart Program at Winton Woods HS and Holmes HS in the Greater Cincinnati area.
She graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from St. Bonaventure University where she was a four-year women's soccer letterwinner and a three-year team captain. She earned an master's degree from Xavier University in sport administration in 2002.
Thoman and her husband, Bill have three children, Brooklyn, Will and Ryan.
