Marissa Bayer joined the University of Cincinnati as Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience in July 2021. Her role includes oversight of the marketing efforts for women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, and track and field.
Prior to joining the Bearcats, Bayer was the Marketing Assistant for the Furman University athletic department. In that role, she oversaw marketing efforts for women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s soccer, and softball while managing on-field promotions for football. Bayer also managed the internship program, social strategy for @FurmanPaladins, and the revamp of the kids club.
She started her career as a sports marketing intern at the University of South Carolina in August 2019 before joining the Georgia State University athletic department as a marketing intern in Sept. 2020. Bayer is a member of NACMA and was a participant and case study winner at the 2021 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar.
Bayer, a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., lettered four years on the Wofford women's basketball team, earning her bachelor's degree in economics in 2019. She then completed her master's in sport and entertainment management from South Carolina in 2020.
