Mary Spengler

Mary Spengler joined the University of Cincinnati Athletics staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for cross country and track and field in July 2023. In her role, she provides care, treatment and rehabilitation for athletic injuries, emergencies and illnesses for the Bearcats’ cross country and track and field programs.

Spengler began her athletic training career at the University of West Alabama, where she served as a graduate assistant from 2020-22 while pursuing her master’s degree. During her time at West Alabama, she worked with the track and field, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball programs. Following her graduate assistantship, Spengler spent one year as an intern athletic trainer with the cross country and track and field programs at LSU in Baton Rouge, La. She then returned to Cincinnati to begin her current role with the Bearcats.

A native of Valley City, Ohio, Spengler earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Cincinnati in 2020 before earning a Master of Science in Physical Education/Athletic Training from the University of West Alabama in 2022. She is also Dry Needle Certified by Select Medical.

In her free time, Spengler enjoys reading, listening to music, walking her dog, crafting and baking.
