Meghan Viens joined the University of Cincinnati Student-Athlete Support Services on June 10, 2013 as an associate director and academic counselor. She works with men's and women's cross country and track and field, as well as women's basketball.
Viens comes to UC from the University of Memphis where she served as an athletic academic assistant from May 2012 until May 2013. In this capacity she worked directly with women's basketball and men's soccer, ensuring academic progress and eligibility, while assisting with advising activities and overseeing study hall.
While working on her master's degree at Marquette University (2010-2012), Viens worked as an intern and tutor in the Office of Student Educational Support - Athletic Academic Support. She spent two years (2006-2008) as the graduate assistant for the Syracuse University women's basketball team. Prior to that, she served as the head student manager for Orange women's basketball (2003-2006).
Viens is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A). She received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Syracuse in 2006. She then obtained a Master of Science in cultural foundations of education from SU in 2008 and a Master of Education in college student personnel from Marquette in 2012.
