University of Cincinnati women's basketball head coach Katrina Merriweather has announced the hiring of Natosha Gottlieb as the program's Director of Sports Performance.

Gottlieb's responsibilities will include the physical development of UC players to perform optimally while decreasing their likelihood of injury. She will be closely involved in the preparation of each player's readiness for practices and games via nutrition, recovery and education.

"I couldn't be more excited to be joining Coach Merriweather's staff," said Gottlieb. "I'm so appreciative of the opportunity and can't wait to be a part of THE SISTERHOOD's success moving forward."

The New Orleans native arrives in Cincinnati after spending four seasons at the University of Florida. She served as the Gators' strength and conditioning coordinator, specializing in women's basketball and women's tennis.

"We are excited to bring Natosha into our Sisterhood," said Merriweather. "She possesses the experience, knowledge and energy our young women need. I'm thankful she chose to be a Bearcat and we are looking forward to continuing our progress in the Big 12."

Prior to UF, she served as the associate director of strength and conditioning at Florida State where she trained women's cross country, volleyball and beach volleyball. During her tenure in Tallahassee, Gottlieb was a part of two conference title teams in beach volleyball and was on staff for back-to-back regional championship crowns in women's cross country.

Gottlieb was an All-American guard at Louisiana College where she scored over 1,000 points and appeared in over 100 games for the Wildcats. She garnered three ASC Academic Honor Roll designations and earned the prestigious ASC Scholar Athlete Medal of Honor as a senior.

"After a nationwide search, I'm extremely excited to welcome Tosh to the University of Cincinnati Sports Performance Department," said Mike Rehfeldt, Senior Associate AD, Sports Performance. "Tosh brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will have a direct impact on our women's basketball program. This hire is in alignment with our growth mindset to elevate services to not only compete in the Big 12 but to chase championships."

Prior to her time in Tallahassee, Gottlieb worked at Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach and as an intern at LSU.

Gottlieb graduated in 2013 from Louisiana College with a degree in Athletic Training, and in 2015 she obtained a master's degree in Exercise Physiology from LSU.
