Former Bearcat standout Sam Miller begins his first season as volunteer assistant coach in 2008.
A four-year starter in the central midfield for the Bearcats from 2003-06, Miller made two NCAA Tournament appearances (2003, 2006) and captained UC to the 2006 BIG EAST Red Division Championship, the first BIG EAST team title in school history.
Miller, a 2003 Conference USA All-Freshman selection, was a two-year captain at UC, scoring seven career goals and adding one assist. He scored the game-winner against Marquette in 2003, securing the C-USA regular-season crown in the season finale. He is one of four Bearcats in school history to play on two NCAA Tournament teams.
Following his career with the Bearcats, Miller signed with the Cincinnati Kings of the United Soccer Leagues[apos] Second Division.
