Tommy Chadwell joined the University of Cincinnati sports performance staff in 2017. He works primarily with the women's soccer and men's and women's swimming and diving programs.
Chadwell joined the UC staff after serving as the director of strength and conditioning at Fit 4 Life Performance & Wellness Center in Fayetteville, N.C. He oversaw a sports performance section working with middle school, high school and collegiate athletes along with general adults and military members. He was responsible for developing and creating a strength, speed, and agility program centered around youth and high school athletes.
He was at Auburn from 2013-16 as a graduate assistant and later an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He worked with a number of the Tigers athletic teams, including baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, women's soccer, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and volleyball.
During his time as an undergrad at Tennessee-Chattanooga, he worked as a student intern in the strength and conditioning program, spending time with all 13 varsity teams and working directly with the Mocs' track and field squad and the 2012 Southern Conference Champion men's golf team.
While completing his undergraduate work, Chadwell served volunteer internships at Vanderbilt during the summers of 2009 and 2010, assisting with football and baseball and Texas Tech, working with football during the summer of 2012.
Chadwell earned a bachelor's degree in health and human performance from UTC in May 2013 and a master's in kinesiology with a concentration in motor development from Auburn in May 2015.
The native of Nashville, Tennessee holds an SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified) certification from the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association
A competitive power lifter and Olympic weightlifter, Chadwell was a three time qualifier for the USAW University Nationals from 2013-15 and reached the qualifying standard for the USAW National Championships in 2015.
