Tristan Mulcahy joined the Cincinnati Athletics family in May 2025 and serves as the Associate Vice President for Development and Deputy Athletic Director. Mulcahy has worked in major gifts fundraising at Virginia Tech since 2018 and has been in college athletics fundraising since 2013.

Mulcahy, a member of UC Director of Athletics John Cunningham's executive staff, oversees all athletic fundraising initiatives and programs for the UC Foundation. He had worked in major gifts fundraising at Virginia Tech since 2018 and has been in college athletics development since 2013.

"Tristan's significant experience securing major gifts for athletic programs and leading athletics fundraising teams will greatly benefit UC," said UC Foundation President Rich Bundy upon his hiring. "His history as a student-athlete and scholarship recipient allows him to connect with donors in meaningful ways."

While at Virginia Tech, Mulcahy led a team that was responsible for raising $63.8 million since July 2021. His team also secured $21 million in commitments for the university's football enhancement fund and was a leader of the $400 million Reach for Excellence Athletic Campaign. Prior to Virginia Tech, Mulcahy held development positions at St. Bonaventure University, Boston College and Wake Forest.

"Tristan's leadership and insight into both fundraising and college athletics make him a tremendous addition to our team," said John Cunningham. "I am confident that he will propel our department forward as we advance in the Big 12 Conference."

Mulcahy earned his bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University where he played baseball. He also has a master's degree in sports management studies from California University of Pennsylvania and was a member of its 40 under 40 honor roll in 2020. This honor goes to individuals contributing to their profession, community, society and alma mater.

"My family and I are incredibly grateful to join the Cincinnati family," said Mulcahy. "I'm excited for the opportunity to pour into our student-athletes, connect with alumni, engage with our supporters, and serve the Bearcat community. We're especially thankful to John Cunningham, Rich Bundy and Mark Theiss for their vision and leadership."

Mulcahy and his wife, Andrea, have three children, Harper, Declan and Landon.
