TicketsZac Swain was promoted to assistant director, Strategic Brand Engagement, in July 2026. He serves as the primary communications contact for volleyball and track and field/cross country while supporting men's basketball media relations and strategic brand engagement efforts.
Swain joined the University of Cincinnati Athletics communications staff as a communications intern in August 2021. During his time as an intern, he supported communications efforts for Cincinnati's historic 2021 College Football Playoff season, coordinated media operations for the Bearcats' nationally prominent 2022 NFL Pro Day and served as the primary communications contact for the women's tennis program during his final year.
He was promoted to graduate assistant for Strategic Brand Engagement in June 2024, serving as the primary communications contact for women's tennis and track and field/cross country. During the 2024-25 season, Cincinnati ranked first in the Big 12 Conference in track and field social media content volume while posting the conference's second-highest growth rate. He also led communications efforts for a program-record eight First Team All-America honors and managed media coverage surrounding former Bearcat Annette Echikunwoke's historic silver medal in the women's hammer throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In September 2025, Swain was promoted to communications assistant, assuming primary communications responsibilities for volleyball and lacrosse while continuing to support men's basketball. During the 2025 volleyball season, the Bearcats generated more than 9 million social media impressions, a 479% increase from the previous season, along with nearly 400,000 engagements.
A two-time graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Swain earned a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in communications and a certificate in sports media and promotion in 2024 before earning a master's degree in sports administration in 2025.
