CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati's home football game vs. USF has been added to the ESPN national television schedule.
The contest will move from Saturday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 22 to accommodate the telecast. Kickoff at Nippert Stadium will be 8 p.m.
"We're excited to play USF on Sunday night on ESPN," stated UC head coach Mark Dantonio. "This will be a critical game for us in the BIG EAST schedule. The move to Sunday will make it the only college football game being played in the nation, which will bring us great national exposure. This will create an exciting atmosphere for our fans and students."
The UC-USF game is one of three games slated for national or regional television. UC's Sept. 8 River City Rivalry game vs. Pittsburgh will be televised by ESPN2 and the Oct. 28 Syracuse contest will receive regional exposure via the BIG EAST's syndicated package with ESPN Regional.
Cincinnati has finalized the starting times for its seven home games. The Sept. 2 home opener vs. Eastern Kentucky and the Sept. 8 Pittsburgh contests will start at 7:30 p.m. The Sept. 30 Miami and Oct. 7 Akron games will begin at 3:30 p.m. The Oct. 22 USF game will start at 8 p.m. The Oct. 28 Syracuse contest will feature a 12 noon kickoff and the home finale vs. Rutgers on Nov. 18 will start at 12:30 p.m.
"We are looking forward to the opportunity to play seven home games in front of our fans and students," Dantonio stated. "It is truly a BCS schedule that brings big time football to Cincinnati and exposes our program to the top teams in the nation."
UC's road schedule includes back-to-back games at Ohio State (Sept. 16) and Virginia Tech (Sept. 23). The Bearcats will play at Louisville (Oct. 14), West Virginia (Nov. 11) and Connecticut (Nov. 25) in BIG EAST Conference play. The starting times for these games have yet to be finalized.
