IN THE STARTING BLOCKS:
After winning the Bowling Green Invitational last weekend, the University of Cincinnati indoor track and field team travels to Bloomington, Ind., for the Gladstein Invitational on Jan. 25-26. Hosted by Indiana, the meet features Louisville, South Florida, Ball State, Western Michigan and the host Hoosiers, among others.

BEARCAT BITES:
• The Bearcats have 11 BIG EAST qualifiers through their first two meets of the season.
• Senior Monica Hundley returns as the school's record holder in the 60 hurdles.
• Senior Brittany Klima won the BIG EAST outdoor title in the pole vault last season and holds the outdoor school record. She is second in school history in the indoor pole vault and holds seven of the Top 13 marks in UC annals.
• Head coach Jim Schnur is in his 23rd year at Cincinnati and seventh as head coach.
• UC finished 10th at the 2007 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, with seniors Renee Hein (high jump) and Tara Meier (pole vault) grabbing individual titles.

LAST TIME OUT:
UC opened its 2008 season by winning the Bowling Green Quadrangular on Jan. 18 at Perry Fieldhouse. The Bearcats posted 141 points, outscoring Ball State (130), Bowling Green (116), Eastern Michigan (79) and IPFW (24). Jill Glassmeyer was just two-tenths of a second from a school record in winning the 5,000 meters. The freshman crossed the finish line in 17:22.60.

FRESHMAN SENSATIONS:
Freshman Natasha Burse has made quite an impact in her first two collegiate meets. The Texas native has captured three event titles and qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the 60 and 200 meter dashes. Fellow frosh Kaylon Eppinger has qualified for the conference meet in the 60 hurdles and high jump, while Jill Glassmeyer made the cut in the 5,000 meters, finishing just two-tenths short of a school record.

UP NEXT:
The Bearcats head back to Bloomington, Ind., for the second straight weekend, competing in the Indiana Relays on Feb. 1 and 2.
